Crime Rate Reduced In Karachi:

DG Rangers

By Media Monitor Desk

DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar expressed these views during his visit to FPCCI head office the other day.

The DG said that keeping peace with 7000 men is a difficult task while the non-availability of witnesses results in acquittal of most of the culprits from courts of law.

Acting President FPCCI Gulzar Firoz has said that the on-going operation has improved the law and order situation in Karachi significantly which has restored the confidence of business community.

He appreciated the efforts of DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar and IG Police Mr. Shahid Hayat and asked them to take extra steps to further improve the situation.

Masses as well as the business community have full faith in the dedication and ability of the police and rangers and any change in the current set up of these agencies would deteriorate the situation in the Karachi, he said.

He noted that there are still some incidents of kidnapping, snatching and extortions being taken place in the adjacent areas of SITE and Korangi Industrial areas that must be contained as disturbance in Karachi have an impact on overall economic situation of the country.

Criminals shouldn’t be allowed to lay waste to GSP Plus status achieved after hard labour, he demanded.

Shaheen Ilyas Sarwana, Abdul Khaliq Khan, Shaukat Ahmed, Mazhar Ali Nasir, Mian Zahid Hussain, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Shakil Dhingra, Sheikh Manzar Alam, Abdul Waheed Shah, Mr. S. M. Farhad, Brig. Rashid Malik and Kanwar Qutubuddin also attended the meeting.
